So, what do we say of salvation? We read that the devils even believe ...so it has to be more than that.

And if it is by believing that Jesus died for our sins ...then how do we assume the people of the Old Testament were granted their salvation, seeing as how Jesus hadn't been born in the manger yet?

Because we are all guilty of sin, in order to be saved we have to be granted exception ...which is called grace.  And also our salvation has a name ...Jesus.

What is required of us ...is to believe, which we call faith.  So, we say we are saved by grace through faith. Yet, our belief has to differ from that of the devils.

First, let's look at how the Old and New Testament believers differ.  In the Old Testament, they looked forward to their coming Savior.  Today, we look forward to His ...Second Coming.

In the Old Testament, they were given the Ten Commandments ...the first being: "Thou shall have no other gods before Me." Today, we have countless gods ...and countless perceptions of the God of the Bible.

II Chronicles 20:29 ..."The fear of God came on all the surrounding kingdoms when they heard how the LORD had fought against the enemies of Israel.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but though it compelled them to respect ...the surrounding kingdoms still lived the way of their own kingdoms.
